With the approval of the Ministry of Industry (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) and Vietnam Electricity, Dai Hai Power Development and Investment Joint Stock Company has invested in researching the Srepok 4 hydropower project, completing the project. The investment project submitted to the Ministry of Industry for approval of the basic design in November 2006, on April 13, 2007 Dak Lak People's Committee granted a license to Dai Hai Power Development and Investment Joint Stock Company to deploy building Serepok 4 hydropower plant.
In May 2007, Dai Hai Power Development and Investment Joint Stock Company established the Srepok 4 Hydropower Project Management Board based in Buon Ma Thuot city to manage the investment and construction of this project.
Serepok 4 hydropower project is the last step on the Serepok River according to the planning approved by the Ministry of Industry, located in Eawer commune, Tan Hoa commune, Buon Don district of Dak Lak province and Ea Po commune, Cu Jut district of the province, Dak Nong.
With the main task of regulating the dry season flow for downstream in Cambodia with a minimum flow of 133 m3/s and generating electricity on the national grid, this is a project that is considered very difficult. difficult when investing because of the task of regulating water for downstream flowing into your country.
The project's permanent land area is expected to be 556,72 ha, of which Buon Don District is 447,87 ha, Cu Jut District is 108,85 ha.
Implementation progress: officially started construction of the project in February 2008 and completed in October 2010, stable operation in 2011. With a capacity of 80 MW (2 units of 40MW), total capacity with a reservoir of 31 million m3, the lake surface area is about 375 hectares, Serepok 4 Hydropower Plant will generate about 336 million kWh per year into the national grid when it is put into operation.
To implement the project, Dai Hai Power Development and Investment Joint Stock Company has made every effort with the enthusiastic and thoughtful support of local agencies, especially the Provincial People's Committee of Dak Lak and Dak Nong.
